Bhrikuti Himalayan Foundation
In 2010, The Bhrikuti Himalayan Foundation was founded by His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche to support humanitarian and philanthropic activities in the Himalayan region, foster and preserve Buddhist teachings and traditions, and support the development of the Universal Peace Project in Lumbini, Nepal.
On October 5, 2018, Bhrikuti Himalayan Foundation hosted a gala dinner in Kathmandu, Nepal, to raise awareness of the Universal Peace Project and celebrate the construction of the Mahasiddha Sanctuary for Universal Peace in Lumbini.
After fourteen districts in Nepal, including Kathmandu Valley, were ravaged by the great earthquake on April 25, 2015, the Bhrikuti Himalayan Foundation partnered with Wencheng Gongzhu International Foundation to organize a charity dinner in Hong Kong to raise funds for earthquake relief.

In the first weeks after the earthquake, monks from Shyalpa Monastery traveled in trucks to remote villages to distribute tarpaulins for temporary shelter and other essential goods to people who had lost nearly everything. Later, the Bhrituki Himalayan Foundation worked in partnership with Nepal Share in the “Roofs of Hope” initiative. Nepal Share transported sheets of tin by helicopter to some of the most inaccessible villages in the worst affected districts. The goal was to provide adequate shelter before the monsoon season began. The Bhrikuti Himalayan Foundation contributed to this effort with funds raised in Hong Kong.
